It's a money maker for them and most of the instructors are legit but they're corporate geeks ruin the soup!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They train you in Fontana and then retrain you in Phoenix. You pay to get there and back!

It's just a corporate pyramid scheme to make money on your license and then own you for the interest rate on the loan.

What they don't tell you is, once the wheels stop so does your income.

Traffic, accidents, weather, limits your pay!

Wonder why nobody is making money at the corporate level driving? You're better off working at Walmart!

the trucks were broken down. down one instructor which made my class huge there were 20 to 25 students on the training pad at all times.

might get 1 or 2 times to drive in a 10 hour day. *** poor attitude from management. the weather stripping was falling out of the truck we took our test in. the test truck was unsafe.

the tires were wore so bad that the dmv put it out of service one of the days at the dmv. i got my cdl the first try at the dmv but it def was not due to the school. doug the instructor is the best man ever just didnt have the time to teach us properly. we had to teach ourselves.save your money this school needs to be shut down by the state.

also the breaks locked up on the way to the dmv one morning causing us to not be able to take our test. they need to refund at least half our money its a complete rip off

Scam!!!!!!!!

Competition to get into "1" Truck. You get 1 maybe 2 tries in that truck.

And at times there will be 11 people to "1" truck. And if you have a problem with the training process, they don't give a *** You have barely 3 days to untangle yourself from that place. It's Hard to tell from 3 days because they are their best behavior leading up to that.

But after that! Watch OUT!

They care more about money than students.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They don't have enough instructors but students they come new groups every Monday.. groups keep getting bigger but no instructors, "teachers" don't give you accurate information and all your notes are not useful because one instructor will tell you different info and the second a different info...

and people are not graduating until 7 or 8th week, this is not a recommended course for the money you are paying. You are going to run out of money before graduating.

Unacceptable “instruction” Jacksonville FL

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I started with Roadmaster on 09/16/2019. I came in with my cdl learners permit so by day 2, I was sent out to the training pad to begin learning pti with no instructor.

Day 3 we finally had an instructor for pti who is an awesome instructor. First week things went well. By week 2 we began learning backing maneuvers. This is where things began to head south.

First instructor I was placed with gave instructions but with no explanation. And from that point we were shuffled between instructors many times, with every instructor telling us a different way to do backing maneuvers. It wasn’t until Friday of the second week of a three week course that we began doing driving on the road. That afternoon I was placed with an instructor who has a penchant for getting his students frustrated WHILE they are behind the wheel of a 70 foot vehicle.

I was so upset at one point I nearly pulled over and made him take over because I didn’t feel safe driving. This happened to at least 2 other students while I was there that I know of. One actually was driving unsafe with the instructor and 3 other students in the truck yet the instructor never made him pull over. Instead he let him continue to drive back to the school in this manner.

And the school knows how this instructor is but let’s him continue like this.

This past Friday I was placed on probation because thanks to less than decent instruction I still hadn’t learned my backing maneuvers. I was placed with a training supervisor that probably is a good instructor when he’s not flirting with a female student. I had my backing maneuvers eval yesterday afternoon and I failed the last maneuver. However I had time for a second eval but the training supervisor decided to eval a student who WAS NOT on a deadline like me instead.

So after clocking out at 6 I went to see the school manager (who doesn’t have a cdl by the way) and was told I was being dropped from the school. And this was something that if I hadn’t sought him out myself, they would have waited for me to come in this morning to tell me this.

I came home last night and did calculations from my logbook. Out of the last 120 hours of so called training, I only had 22 actual behind the wheel time, 8 of which were on the road. That left 14 actually doing maneuvers and 98 standing on the training pad.

Why? Because they overload and overlap classes so you lose a lot of actual time.

So now the company that paid for school for me is out thousands of dollars and I have to pay to be tested at a 3rd party site.

My advice is don’t waste time and money. Do your research and take heed of the complaints against this school.

A few things I failed to point out in my original post - the student that this training supervisor spends his days flirting with is allowed to talk to other students and instructors any way she wants as well as stand outside the truck while a student is doing maneuvers making comments about their skills but nothing is ever done about her behavior. Also practice time is given most to students who already know these skills instead of focusing on the ones who are struggling. I can’t speak for all Roadmaster sites, but this one in Jax is not worth wasting money on if you actually expect to learn anything.

I went to school for 4 weeks there and never felt comfortable with the tear of the trailer and tried to voice my opinion.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I never successfully did the alley dock or the offset back up but they went ahead and approved me for the test. I voiced my opinion to management and they didn't really care, they wanted me to test anyway.

Good for them, if i fail I'll have to pay another $75 to try again. I called in sick and they basically told me not to come back therefore i was never able to take the test.

Don't go to them. You'll just be throwing money away.

I'm trying to contact a lawyer and sue them. Any suggestions?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

First I will say that I was respected as man. I had one problem with a trainer and it was handled in a professional manor.

But I must say mr.troy mr.stan mr.doug mr.john mr.william mr.mike and mr.robbert they are great people they were patient and made sure I knew how to control the tractor and trailer movements.the only thing that needs works is the motel stay.

They out you in a room with a complete stranger. Other than that great experience.

Dangerous School

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Hello I would like to be transferred to another location. the Jacksonville location was a joke and a very poorly run school several mistakes were made from day one many against state guidelines including forcing automatic wavier drivers to drive manual trucks.

A female student on 7/22/19 was rushed to the hospital because an instructor William forces them to stay in the sun with no shade. that's just a couple examples. to make a long story short I was in a agreement with an instructor today 7/23/19 part of it was over some of the illegal mistakes made by the school some of which are against state guidelines for truck driving schools. I was told I could no longer attend school because I had written warnings I was never notified of!

before leaving I was even asked to sign warnings from two weeks ago I was never informed of. A student with in the same truck as me Junior Joseph cut in front of a car because the instructor Ray wasn't paying attention a near head on collision... For lack of better words this school is run very getto with huge mistakes every day. solution I want either a full refund or a transfer to another location or I am filing a lawsuit both against the school and Werner but will also be pursuing a State investigation.

we are supposed to get so many hrs of driving and number of drives but sometimes I would record only 27 minutes another time 23 minutes and the school put me in a constant panic that there is only so much time left but we are not getting state guideline time. also sometimes we pad would be so overcrowded groups of 9 people in one group a person may only get 2-3 turns for maneuvers in a 11 hr day!.

I want a transfer or refund please I have 130 hours in please help me finish. I expect someone from corporate to call me yesterday

Please run don’t look back

I attend Road master school July 15, 2018 class room instructor was Walter great everything was very professional. Pre - trip was a disaster we was outside for 3 days walking around without a instructor student teaching the class .

We finally made it to the pad which you would have to stand in the sun 95 degree weather . Waiting to get into a hot Raggedy truck which power steering don’t work . Then the instructors yelling turn left right stop no examples of the maneuvers just plain Ghetto ! I was there for 3 weeks trying to get my CDL .

Heck no I need to hang onto my Class C . I thought for a minute , I was in a third world country . Not to mention being sexually harassed daily by a strange *** instructor. This place is a joke you are cattle to them .

They will take your money give you little or no training . Please run away from Road Fakers

Dont Go Here, you're just a number in the end!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was enrolled Class#01 in San Antonio TX. The school is located off of Eddie rd. The little stuff i will go ahead and note here is that sharing the tractor abd trailer with 4 students can cause unbalanced practice time in the long run. Secondly , 2 instructors , one is Jeff and he is a supervisor, and the other one is Shannon. I dont know if shannon has realized it but yelling at somebody when they are trying to drive should be considered a "dangerous act" because its distracted driving. With Jeff , he wrote 3 out of 4 of us in the group for 'not being up to par' of our training compared to other students in the same class. This right away is not credible because there was only 1 automatic group which was ours at the time.... how can you compare manual students to automatics when to each their own are trained on different structures? Also shouldnt it be a sign that your instructors are lacking the proper training or quality of if it shows we are not up to par?

Also when i got through my school evaluations, my GPA was a 88 average. Which is pretty good! When i started my CDL exams , i flew through and past my pre trip and airbrakes the first time around. Next i moved to the skills, exams which was straightline back , passed it, offset , passed it, and parallel i had the problem with. On day 2 after i failed for too many pull ups on the parallel i was left at the exam table with just me and one other student sitting in the warehouse. By ourselves. I started to complain if we were going to get any practice time and they said both trucks are being used BUT that we werent allowed to leave ? Well when a 3rd truck became available after getting its gearbox replaced. We were given that truck , by the time it was picked up it was nearly 5pm and close up procedures start between 530-540pm. We only got to go once. This school seriously needs to have a recovery class to work on anything they are failing on the weekends with a assigned instructor(s) to actually and consistently help students who are sinking and just becoming in debt with money spent on a school that doesnt care if you pass or not.

I would like to note that i went straight to CR England trucking and i passed the exam on the first try and im now working with my CDL.

Go to a company ! Not this private school. A company would actually work with you and help you get your cdl and you wont have any tuition wot pay with a work contract.

Even corporate called me and claimed that what i said wasnt true that they dont give advice regarding the CDL exam grading. Both Jeff and Carlton told me pointers ti cheat over there or try to go faster on the parallel to speed yourself in the box and it would be ok to back up past the rear cones and to just have points taken off and then pass for their cdl examination.
